According to an upcoming decree by the Ministry of Growth, gas station owners will be faced with heavy fines and closure, should they not install a designated inflow-outflow system within the legally-set time frame.
Two moth before the deadline for Attica and Thessaloniki, the Ministry of Growth has clarified its intention to shutdown any repeat offender gas stations, in an effort to set stricter standards. Gas stations owners across the country must comply by mid-2014/
At the same time the Ministry will support the installation of these systems with financial aid derived from the NSRF program, in an effort to improve the marker operation and competition and to avert smuggling.
Seminars regarding the installation of the inflow-outflow system in gas stations will be organized by the nationwide federation of gas station owners and fuel suppliers in Attica, Thessaloniki and Heraklion.
