The police have discovered an apartment that appears to have been used as a hide out by militant anarchist group SPF in Galatsi. This is the 16th alleged SPF hide out the police has uncovered, the fourth in recent weeks following the double robbery in Velvento.
It appears that the apartment on Karpenisioti and Dikonimou at Tourkovounia in Galatasi was occupied up until a few days ago by individuals thought to be implicated in the robbery in Velvento. Police have recovered dozens of items belonging to the suspects, but no weapons or explosives. Among the items seized are ten forged identity cards and a list of suppliers, mobile phones, a guitar case, bomb-making information and one assault rifle round.
Police sources indicate that the suspects most likely lived there. Four more alleged SPF members are thought to still be at large, two of whom have been identified by the police. The jeep stolen from a dentist and used by the still-at-large armed robbers during their escape from Velvento was located in Naousa.
