Following a series of consultations with Greek banks, the Ministry of National Defense’s Join Labor Committee and Greek Bank Union will convene on Tuesday afternoon at the Ministry of National Defense to decide upon the final proposals for the loans of thousands of member of the Armed Forces.

The Minister of National Defense Panos Panagiotopoulos, who personally took the initiative, met with the president and board of directors members of the Greek Bank Union and suggests a series of measures, to provide some relief to borrowers.

The Ministers suggests that the repayment of loans be extended, that lending rates be reduced and that the monthly repayment installments be reduced, so that they do not exceed 25% of borrower’s net income.

Special secretary Antonis Economou will represent the Ministry of National Defense, while Christos Gortsos will represent the Greek Bank Union.
