The Minister of Growth Kostis Hatzidakis met with the managements of OSE, TRAINOSE, ERGOSE, GAIAOSE and Rosco to discuss the urgent need to complete the construction of the Ikonio-Thriasio railway. The delayed construction has resulted in a change of terms for Cosco, TRAINOSE and Hewlett Packard.
According to the original time-table, the line was to be complete by the end of February with TRAINOSE obliged to operate two trains a week, with 40 containers each. The goal is for shipments from Piraeus to be transferred by rail to Ikonio and from there to Eidomeni. From there, shipments can be forwarded to FYROM, Serbia, Hungary, Austria and the Czech Republic.
