Members of SYRIZA’s youth organization have taken over the academic office of the Ministry of Finances’ General Secretary, Mr. Mergos, in protest of his comments regarding minimum wage.
According to left.gr, the protestors have raised banners, one of which states “Nobody can live with 500 euros”. The protesters also called workers to participate in the general strike on the 20th of February. Police forces are present.
The protesters released a statement condemning Mr. Mergos’ comments that “the minimum wage must be further reduced, in order to satisfy the needs of the Samaras administration growth”. They explain that the only answer to governments and memorandums is “a collective, tenacious struggle”
