The commanding officer of the Renti Police Department was arrested on Wednesday evening by officers of the Internal Affairs Directory, after he was accused of stealing 4,000 euros from a Pakistani immigrant.
According to the Pakistani’s complaint, the commanding officer stopped him over a traffic violation and during his search, found the money and took it. Police sources indicate that the money was recovered when the commander’s office was searched. Following preliminary investigation, the police will issue a press statement.
On Tuesday, the Internal Affairs Directory arrested the commanding officer of the 2nd Security Precinct of Egaleo, a 35-year-old police Captain, a 56-year-old police pensioner and a 19-year-old Pakistani national, on accusation of blackmail. The police captain is being accused of misconduct and the others face charges of misuse of authority.
