The Minister of Labor G. Vroutsis spoke to Mega Channel on Wednesday morning and responded to rumors that the government is looking to change labor union legislation in an effort to ban strikes. Mr. Vroutsis claims that the rumors are false and that he personally does not believe in abolishing the right to strike
Regarding the proposed change, Mr. Vroutsis stated that he never made such a comment. He then claimed that the law has “signs of fatigue”, particularly the part regarding unionization.
When asked about the issue of supplementary pensions, the Minister claimed that they will be “streamlined”, just like the pension lump sums, without giving any further details. Mr. Vroutsis stated that next week it will be determined which sectors and funds will join the united supplementary pension fund.
