The boards of ESIEA and EPIEA have announced rolling 24-hour strikes, from 6am Friday 7th of February 2013, to 6am Tuesday 12th of February 2013. The strike is in response to government abolition of collective labor agreements and dramatic wage cuts.
The strike affects journalists working in public entities, civil service, local government, ERT, the Parliament television station, APE-MPE. GGE-GGE and the radio stations “Athina 9.84”, “Kanali 90.4” and “Epikinonia FM”.
Also, on Monday the 11th of February, all private media (newspapers, television and radio stations) have agreed to a three-hour walkout, between noon and 3pm. A march from ESIEA offices to Parliament will begin at noon.
