Famous actor Giorgos Kimoulis has been arrested, for tax debts of about 200,000 euros. Mr. Kimoulis released a press statement on Tuesday, regarding his alleged hiding. The actor was arrested in Syntagma, following his performance in a play. On Thursday morning Mr. Kimoulis was taken to the prosecutor, where he paid a 4,418 euro fine and arranged a debt settlement, before being set free.
In his statement, Kimoulis referred to his “public ridicule and constructed spectacle”. He condemned the “provocations” and the “brutal rape of being forced to publicize your private matters”, while pointing out that an “edited truth” of his case has been publicized.
