GSEE has announced a general strike, in the public and private sector, for the 20th of February, while ADEDY is expected to make a similar announcement. The demonstration rendezvous is Pedion Areos at 11am.
The issues that GSEE will protest for are the Collective Labor Agreements, unemployment and repealing the undemocratic and repressive measures against workers and unions.
In the announcement GSEE underlines that “the brutal violation of basic and fundamental employment rights such as the fiscal bleeding of employees and pensioners have gone beyond all limits” and details that they “will always fight for the financial, insurance, work and institutional rights that were repressed by memorandum policies”.
