The office of Minister of Labor Giannis Vroutsis, on the 8th floor of the Ministry on Stadiou Street, has been taken over by about 40 PAME members, along with PAME head Giorgos Perros.
The PAME members are shouting slogans and demand an audience with the Minister. According to first reports, the crowd stormed the building without warning. The police have sent two teams of MAT riot police.
The take over was a response to Mr. Vroutsis’ claims that the insurance system was steadily built as a result of “customer perspectives” and “today is a mosaic of exceptions and special circumstances”, requiring a fair restructuring. The KKE press office issued a statement in response, accusing the Minister of having “the audacity of a thief”.
