A special committee has been formed by the Ministry of Finances to monitor the revenue from VAT, collection of overdue bills, audits of large companies and self employed businessmen. The committee will report back to the Ministry on a weekly basis.
The committee’s purpose is to monitor the weekly goals from tax audits and the collection of taxes, so that if any shortfalls appear, they are dealt with immediately. The committee will also monitor the efficiency indexes of Public Financial Services and the progress of monitoring centers. Special care will be shown to the collection of the VAT.
Deputy Minister of Finances G. Mavraganis and General Secretary of Public Revenue H. Theoharis will participate in the committee.
