25.1.13
The Ministry of Finances is making the necessary changes to a bill regarding the improvement of pension, financial, administrative provisions, which is to be discussed on the 28th of January.
One of the amendments will include the acquisition of bank accounts that have remained inactive for 20 years. These funds will be used exclusively to support the most vulnerable groups of people. According to early estimations, there might be 3 million euros available.
This measure would apply to bank accounts that have remained inactive for 20 years, with banks having one last opportunity to contact beneficiaries. This will also change the 1942 law passed during the Nazi Occupation, whereby all funds and interest go to the State, should they not be sought by their beneficiaries for 20 years.
