Two young men, aged 16 and 19 years old respectively, were rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of the University Hospital of Heraklion, after being injured on the coastal boulevard in Heraklion.

According to reports, the two refused to stop for a check in down town Heraklion, since the motorcycle they were riding had no license plates. The rider sped off, prompting a pursuit by DIAS motorcycle police.

On the coastal high way, by the mouth of Giofyros river, they lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into road works. An ambulance promptly picked up the two and took them to the University Hospital. The two DIAS police officers have been arrested for causing serious bodily harm.
