Former government representative Giorgos Petalotis has responded to former PASOK MP Andreas Loverdos’ comments regarding the decision to resort to the troika. Mr. Petalotis stated that the decision was unanimous and that Mr. Loverdos was one of the first ministers who were involved, disregarding the political cost.

When asked about Mr. Loverdos’ comments, Mr. Petalotis estimated that the discussions of the time probably justify the attempts to differentiate himself. However, Mr. Petalotis explained that when PASOK’s politics are found to be sound, even by those who were completely oppositional, like Mr. Samaras, then those attempts are not honorable.

Mr. Petalotis also insisted that former ministers should not engage in such conversations, because the people’s patience is not unlimited and cannot listen to things that never happened.
