The Ministers of Labor, Growth and Education are to present their common “National Action Plan for the Employment of Youth”.

This plan integrates NSRF action plans addressed to young people and which are sponsored by the ECB and European Regional Development Fund. This is the first coordinated plan in Greece towards combating the serious unemployment rates affecting the youth.

The programs, which are addressed to the unemployed up to 35 years old, aim to open the job market, support innovative entrepreneurship and invest in rural areas, social care and cultural social work. Participants will receive training and five months work experience, while businesses will be obliged to hire them for a year, at the end of the program’s training period.

The Ministry of Labor expects that more than 62,000 will be created. Institutional and departmental representatives of all three ministries will present in detail the 20 steps of the ambitious plan.
