According to Deputy Minister of Interior Charalambos Athanasiou, his ministry is going through the draft of a law concerning the conditions by which one gains Greek citizenship, in order to comply with the Council of State decisions. Mr. Athanasiou mentioned that the relative decision by the Assembly of the Council of State is required.
Mr. Athanasiou responded to a question by Golden Dawn MP Ilias Kasidiaris, on the government’s non-compliance with the Council of State’s decisions, regarding the constitutionality of the Ragousis law on obtaining Greek citizenship. The deputy minister explained that the Assembly’s decision on the constitutionality of the law has not been publicised, therefore “there is no issue of compliance to it, when we don’t know its content”.
