Minister of Finances G. Stournaras met with the PM Antonis Samaras at Maximou Hall in order to discuss the economy and the necessary procedures that are required for the upcoming Eurogroup conference.
Mr. Stournaras revealed that the decision for the next installment will be made at the Eurogroup and that the government must have dealt with the pending tax bill, which will be voted next Friday.
The next meeting of Eurozone Ministers of Finances is in Brussels on the 21st of January. Mr. Stournaras did not want to comment on SYRIZA implicating him in the “Lagarde List” scandal, by repeating his position that he has not dealt with the matter, nor is it his business. Regarding the cases of businessmen being arrested over outstanding debts to the State, the minister commented that the Authorities are simply doing their job.
