Following their New Year’s Day strike, employees in public transport services (subway, trains and tram) are committed to a vocal reaction to their inclusion in the unified payroll.
The STASY S.A. unions unanimously decided that they will not accept any further salary cuts and “if collective labor agreements and constitutionally-protected collective negotiations are unilaterally and violently abolished”, they will begin to mobilize dynamically on every level in the next few days.
The unions claim that their inclusion in the uniform payroll will lead to a violent repeal of the collective labor agreement signed in April 2012, on top of a significant 35% wage cut already in effect. The employees also point out that they also dealt with a 48.6% decrease in payroll costs since 2009, following retirements, transfers and discharges.
