The police sergeant stationed at Agrinio, accused of being a member of a nation-wide drug-dealing gang, has been detained, following his statement at the prosecutor’s office on Thursday. Five more defendants have also been detained.
On Friday the remaining nine defendants are to make their statement at the prosecutor. Among them are two Albanian nationals who are thought to be the gang leaders, the commander of the drugs enforcement agency in Volos and a police sergeant from Salonica immigration services.
So far 14 of the defendants have been detained and 12 have conditionally been released.
