A partner of Stavros Papastavrou in Aisios Foundation, one of the offshores included in the Panama Papers, had previously been accused of money laundering and was included in the Lagarde list of suspected tax evaders.

In greater detail, lawyer Spyros Metaxas testified in relation to the military procurement scandal in Greece. The case file alleges that Mr. Metaxas set up the Green 4Cast Foundation and the Olav Engineering Corp. in Panama on behalf of Antonis Kantas.

These offshores were used to launder bribes worth 143 million euros that derived from various procurement programs. Kantas is a former deputy director of arms procurement at the Ministry of National Defense who is at the heart of a major military procurement and bribery scandal.

The lawyer appears to have received a 1.4 million euro bribe. Nevertheless, the examiner decided to let Metaxas go free.
