A Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy bill regarding the extension of the 67 percent stake in the concession contract between the state and Thessaloniki Port Authority was approved by a wide majority of the competent parliamentary committee.

SYRIZA, New Democracy, the Independent Greeks, and the Potami party voted in favour of the bill.

The Greek Communist Party, Golden Dawn, the Movement for Change, and the Centrists’ Union parties all said that they will take a stand when the bill is debated in the plenary session of parliament.

The bill will be debated in parliament in an emergency, fast-track procedure this coming Thursday, 22 February.
