The vicious assault carried out against PAME members in Perama in September 2013 will be examined by the courts on Monday in the trial regarding the criminal activities of neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn. This is the third major case against Golden Dawn, following the hearings for the murder of anti-fascist activist and rapper Pavlos Fyssas and a brutal attack against Egyptian fishermen.

In the case of the assault in Perama, the leader of the local Golden Dawn offices and three others are facing attempted homicide charges. The prosecution considers the attack to have been planned and specifically targeted against the PAME members and that the neo-Nazi party’s leadership was fully aware, in an effort to create a Golden Dawn sponsored employee union.

Recently the telephone conversations of Golden Dawn MP Yannis Lagos with other Golden Dawn members from September 2013 reveals that he was aware of the attack and that efforts were made to cover it up. In his talks with the head of the party’s offices in Piraeus Sotiris Develekos both explicitly brag about the physical harm they caused.
