A 37-year-old man who was arrested in Serres on Saturday will face the Misdemeanors Court Prosecutor for beating two dogs to death and then setting them on fire.

According to reports, the contracted municipal employee visited the local kennel to feed the stray dogs. The 37-year-old claims that two of the dogs bit him and he beat them to death with a stick, before setting them on fire.

When colleagues of the 37-year-old man noticed the grisly remains, they contacted the Police and the man was subsequently arrested. The police also seized ten narcotic pills from the 37-year-old for which he did not have a prescription.
