SYRIZA MEP Kostas Chrysogonos has estimated that an agreement reached between the Greek government and its creditors will be accompanied by painful measures.

Speaking to SKAI on Wednesday, the MEP added that “time is working against Greece”, but blamed that International Monetary Fund for delays.

Nevertheless, the claimed that the contingency measures demanded by the IMF will not pass. Mr. Chrysogonos also estimated that by tackling tax evasion and organized crime, the Greek government will be able to counter these measures.

Additionally, the SYRIZA MEP commented that it was “not realistic” to expect the Greek economy to maintain a 3.5% growth rate, estimating that debt relief is necessary.
