The second bill containing a series of measures, as a prerequisite for the third bailout that is being negotiated between the Greek government and its international creditors was tabled in Parliament on Tuesday, with the discussion scheduled to begin at 9am on Wednesday.

In order to secure an agreement for assistance from the European Stability Mechanism, the Greek Parliament must approve an additional series of measures by the end of the day. After the bill is discussed at the relevant committees, it will be submitted to the Parliamentary Assembly. The voting process is expected to conclude by midnight.

ADEDY demonstration planned for 7:30pm

The country’s largest public sector trade union ADEDY announced a rally at the Propylaea for 7:30, followed by a march and demonstration outside Parliament in the afternoon on Wednesday, when the plenary session will be under way. ADEDY has called people and other unions to join pubic sector employees in their struggle against the new bailout, overturn the austerity and defend popular sovereignty, independence and democracy.
