The Eurozone chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem commented that the Eurogroup is becoming increasingly pessimistic as to whether Greece can be saved, in an interview he gave to Dutch website Volkskrant.

Mr. Dijsselbloem, who is aiming to extend his presidency of the Eurogroup for another term, argued that the doubt for Greek resolve to save itself increase day by day.

According to the Dutch report, following the “explosive” meeting of the Eurozone Finance Ministers in Latvia, where Greek FinMin Yanis Varoufakis “took a beating” by his colleagues, Mr. Dijsselbloem contact Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras after conclusion of the Eurogroup.

The Dutch Finance Minister stressed that he has done the same in the past and that the negotiation process must be streamlined. When asked whether a third major bailout for Greece was immanent, he responded that he does not believe so at present.
