The days go by, the new Left government is consolidating, but the country’s financial problem remains active and continues to deteriorate.

Despite the Finance Minister’s rhetoric and the many “cries” of the propagandists who repeat his slogans, there are no easy answers or solutions to the Greek problem.

On the contrary, the new government which cultivated so many expectations is realizing that there is no prospect for the country and its economy, without fully assuming responsibilities.

The developments of the past few days reflect the crisis that those in charge of the economy have to face.

It is no coincidence after all that they are taking emergency measures and seeking to use policies which up until yesterday they condemned.

They issued legislative acts in order to collect money for wages and pensions and retracted the autonomy of local government, while they are preparing to seize the few remaining resources in the pension funds.

It is also being said that the few funds that the hospitals have will be transferred to the Bank of Greece, with all that this implies for their readiness to operate with dignity.

It is interested how over the past day our “heroic” government appears to be rushing and circulating information on an upcoming deal as soon as possible.

This something that is not confirmed by our partners and interlocutors in Brussels; the latter speak of some progress, but which cannot guarantee any solution in the near future, as Athens suggests.

There is no dough that the Greek stat and our economy as a whole are facing serious liquidity problems, which if they carry on for a further months, until the end of June, will affect the country’s financial operations and will likely cause irreparable damages.

It is now proven that those responsible for economy policy took the country’s problem lightly. They did not understand the severity of the lack of liquidity, they underestimated the stance of our partners and of course they overestimated their abilities.

In essence they failed in the negotiations, they have caused serious damage to the Greek economy and worst of all they persist, when it is certain that they have no other option than an agreement, which will become increasingly painful for the country and the people the longer they delay.

Truth be told the money is running out, all domestic piggy banks have been raided, the illusions of help from Russians, Chinese or Iranians have been shattered and from now on the Americans will set hurdles to the Greek claim more than anything.

However much one may want to close their eyes, the delusions and illusions are over.

The government does not have a solution, or salvation outside of Europe. Even this European solution, it must earn it with real reforms, hard work, a comprehensive program and guarantees of its implementation.

Everything else is fairytales for gullible fans, who will be fewer and far between as time goes on.

The trust that SYRIZA’s leadership gained is quickly being spent.

To overturn the situation it must quickly assume its responsibilities towards the country and the people. There is no other way.
