An open letter in favor of Greece and Europe has been signed by 300 academics and intellectuals from all over the world. The open letter was published on the mediapart.fr website, which was founded by political journalist and former editor-in-chief of Le Monde, Edwy Plenel.
The signees demand that the European governments, European Commission, European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund respect the decision of the Greek people and being negotiations with the new Greek government in order resolve the debt problem.
Amongst the singees are James Galbraith, Stephany Griffith-Jones, Jacques Sapir, Gerald Epstein and Dominique Meda.
