The Minister of Public Order Vasilis Kikilias is currently in Israel on an official trip, where he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Deputy Director of the National Security Council Eran Lerman and his Israeli counterpart Yitzhak Aharonovitch in Jerusalem on Wednesday.

Mr. Kikilias then headed to Tel Aviv, where he met with Maj. Gen. Amos Gilad, the director of the Political-Military Affairs Bureau at Israel’s Ministry of Defense. The recent developments in Northern Africa and the Middle East were at the top of the agenda, along with security concerns and the efforts to tackle terrorism.

The Greek Minister stressed that Greece is the sole pillar of stability and security in the troubled Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East and reiterated the Greek commitment to combating terrorism. Both sides expressed their satisfaction at the degree of cooperation and expressed their desire to further develop bilateral relations.
