The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT has published its latest divs regarding employment, according to which the rate of unemployment in the April-to-June trimester was 26.6%, compared to the 27.8& rate of the January-to-March trimester and 27.3% in the corresponding semester of 2013.

Overall, the number of those employed during the second semester was 3.539.085, compared to 1,280,101 who were unemployed. The rate of unemployment for women (30.4%) was significantly higher than the rate for men (23.5%). A similar trend was documented in the 52% unemployment rate of people aged 15-24, where 57.5% of young women were unemployed.
