The union of Culture Ministry employees (POE-YPPO) has announced a walk out for Thursday, which is effective from 11:30 until the end of the working day. A demonstration will take place outside the Ministry of Administrative Reform at noon, followed by a march to the central offices of the Body of Public Administration Auditors and Inspectors (SEEDD)

According to the POE-YPPO statement, the walk out is in response to “the new phase of the government’s ongoing attack against employees and public goods”, citing the staff reviews and other management issues. The Culture Ministry employee union has called for other public sector and local government employees to join their protest.

The executive committee of ADEDY has issued a statement in support of the walk out and calling for public sector employees to attend the demonstration against the government’s “repressive choices”, which it accuses of further immersing itself in an “undemocratic sludge”.
