European Athletics Championships: Belibasaki qualifies to 200m semi-finals

Sprinter Maria Belibasaki finished second in the 3^rd heat in the women’s 200m race on Thursday, thus qualifying for the semi final race of the European Athletics Championships in Zurich. Earlier, in the second heat of the 200m qualifiers, Andriana Ferra came in 5^th and as such will not progress to next round.

In the women’s 20km Race Walk final Despina Zapounidou finished in the 20^th position, having completed the race in 1:34:03, while Antigoni Drisbioti came in 24^th (1”35:54). Russia’s Elmira Alembekova won the gold (1:27:56), followed by Lyudmyla Olyanovska (1:28:07) from Ukraine and the Czech Republic’s Anezka Drahotova (1:28:08).
