According to a Bloomberg report, the former General Secretary of Public Revenue Harris Theoharis was dismissed from his post only 17 months into a five-year term due to taxing and fining 300 rich individuals.

The report cites comments made by Theoharis during a press conference, where he stated that after reviewing the tax returns of 300 wealthy taxpayers, he imposed fines worth 80 million euros.

The Bloomberg report suggests that a turn towards populism may be at hand, despite the Greek government vehemently denying such a case.
