Thursday the 24th of April 2014 marks the 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide that took place in Turkey in 1915, with Armenian communities worldwide honoring the memory of the 1,500,000 victims, while struggling for justice.

As part of the 99th anniversary, the Regional Government of Attica has arranged a memorial service to take place at 4.30pm at the Monument of the Victims of the Armenian Genocide in Nea Smyrni.

The Armenian Ambassador in Greece Gagik Ghalachian along with the military attaché of the Armenian Embassy will be joining the Mayor of Nea Smyrni Stavros Tzoulakis and representatives of the Armenian community in the memorial service.

After the memorial service, a rally has been scheduled for 6.30pm at Syntagma Square, followed by a demonstration march to the Turkish Embassy.
