The EOPYY doctor union announced its intention to continue its strike from the 7th to the 10th of January and called all of its members to take part in “the struggle for the decency of the sector”. POSEYP-EOPYY also clarified that emergency incidents will be handled by the security staff.

The extension of ongoing doctor strike was strongly hinted yesterday, when the doctor representatives expressed their disappointment at the progress of negotiations after their meeting with the Deputy Minister of Health Antonis Bezas and the Panhellenic Medical Association.

The striking doctors have stressed that the proposed terms of their induction in the National Health System are derogatory and designed to force them out.
