The police conducted an extensive operation outside the Athens University of Economics and Business on Patision Street, where a number of street sellers have set up shop of mostly counterfeit goods.

The traffic police assisted in the extensive operation by temporarily shutting down Patision, the main street in front of the university building. When the street sellers noticed the police, they quickly relocated on university grounds.

Riot police units were deployed, but after negotiations with students and employed they left the premises. During the operation, DIAS motorcycle police officers located a white car containing huge bundles of counterfeit goods, which was confiscated. A few people were also detained for further questioning.
