According to a report by Deutsche Welle, the German government has responded negatively to the report in the Sunday print edition of “To Vima” regarding the Greek government’s latest efforts regarding reparations, by claiming that “the road to reform is long, Greeks must not lose focus”.

The German Minister of Finances Wolfgang Schäuble commented on the recent resurgence of the war reparation s issue and the intentions of Greek authorities to pursue legal action. Mr. Schäuble explained in an interview with the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung newspaper that “Greece has achieved a lot, but still had a long way to go. [Greeks] should not lose their direction. Regarding the claims for reparations, I see no hope because this matter was cleared up a while ago”.
